Application Naming
It should be clear to users that your application is provided by you/your company and not Pocket
Our goal is to eliminate user confusion. It should be clear that Pocket is not the developer of your application.
There are 2 simple rules for naming your application:
- The name cannot have 'Pocket' or 'Read It Later' in the application's name. (Ex: 'Pocket for Blackberry' and 'Read It Later for Blackberry' would be inappropriate)
- The logo cannot use Pocket's logo (or the former Read It Later logo)
An example
We think the best example of this is to look at the dozens of Twitter clients that exist. They all use the Twitter API and provide access to Twitter but have names like: Twittelator, Tweetbot, Tweetdeck, etc. It is clear to the user that Twitter did not build the apps but rather they are provided by separate developers/companies.
